Overview

A polished bubble-shooter puzzle game built at Athena Studio (an AppLovin partner studio). I led client-side development — gameplay, levels, live-ops hooks, and store deployment — using JavaScript, HTML5, Cocos, and Cordova.

Successfully launched on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store from a single HTML5 codebase.

The problem

Ship a smooth 60fps puzzle game across iOS and Android from one codebase — with the level pipeline, ad/IAP integration, and update cadence a live mobile title demands.

Architecture

Cocos-based HTML5 game core wrapped with Cordova for native store distribution. Level data is driven by a content pipeline so designers ship new levels without code changes; analytics and monetization SDKs are bridged through native plugins.

Highlights

  • —Shipped on both stores One HTML5 codebase, native distribution on iOS and Android via Cordova.
  • —Designer-driven level pipeline New levels and tuning ship as content, not code — sustaining live-ops cadence.
  • —Performance on low-end devices Object pooling and draw-call batching keep gameplay smooth on budget Android phones.
